Called to be Controversial

18th August 2018

This morning I woke up with some very keen thoughts and reflections about this generation and it's spirituality.  I was grieved that much of this generation is addicted and beguiled by the cult of new age personality in the world and in the church. How tragic.

It would appear that today's "Christianity" is largely devoid of the language and powerful expression of the authentic faith once delivered to the saints (see Jude 1:3), and has instead become this kind of feckless & seeker sensitive cultural celebrity "christianity" that teaches how you feel about the "supernatural" is more important than the truth itself. This is a vain kind of philosophy that is cheating many from receiving the King's reward! ( see Colossians 2:8 & 18)

While the milieu of false teachers, hyper-grace proponents and new age mystic weirdos increases and spreads it feels as though the original gospel of the kingdom has but been long forgotten except by those who instinctively know with knowing deep in their spiritual gut, that all this hype and jargon about "Jesus-this" and "Jesus-that" is "another gospel" ( 2 Corinthians 11:4)

Friends we are called to be controversial in this hour, because the world and yes even much of the so called "church" is steeped in darkness ( ignorance) and yet we are called as "the salt of the earth" and the "Light of the world". ( Matthew 5:13-16)

Have we as a generation lost the flavour of truth? Is our spirituality good for nothing, except to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men? (see Matthew 5:13)

I suspect that many have compromised the integrity of holiness and have just "gone with the flow" of this polluted stream of cultural christianity that teaches us to "just believe" when really there is much more at stake here than mere semantics.

Yeshua spoke jealously of God's glory when he said, "How can you honestly believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?" (John 5:44) At what point does accepting glory from one another become vainglorious and contemptible, especially when people stop authentically seeking the glory that comes from the only and One true God?

"He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of truth; in Him there is no falsehood."( John 5:41)

A generation caught up in the cult of personality and celebrity idolisation will have no regard for the truth or ways of God, but will be heaping up for themselves teachers that teach from their own authority, men who are seeking glory and recognition and fame for themselves but have not the real love of God in them.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." ( 2 Timothy 4:3-4)

"Accumulating teachers for themselves in accordance with their own desires" sounds a lot like a generation that has rejected truth, and is now looking to the new age spiritualists to give them some new and exciting revelation about "quantum mechanics" of the spiritual realm, when in reality they are intruding into a field of research and philosophy that is dangerous to the health and well being of their own soul.

Their ears have turned away from the truth of the cross, the truth of sin, the truth of repentance, the truth of the blood of the lamb, the truth of redemption, and instead have turned away their ears ( meaning they refuse to listen) and have now turned aside and embraced myths.

When men reject the truth of God and embrace myths then the kingdom of God suffers violence, and it's the violent ones who are actually robbing it. ( correct translation of Matthew 11:12)

So take a real look around and recognise "the violent men of God" who seem to be so caught up in their own false teaching and heresy and gnosticism and paganism all the while preaching "grace" and living sinful indulgent lifestyles addicted to their own greed and vainglory and covetousness.

"But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." ( 2 Timothy 3:13)

"For such men are slaves, not of our Master Yeshua but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting." (Romans 16:18)

"Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion." ( Jude 1:11)

On August 12th, we entered into what is called "the season of repentance" starting on Elul 1 in the Hebrew calendar, which is a 40 day period that ends with Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). In this period of time it is imperative to honestly begin to examining where you have placed your tent spiritually, and what you have allowed into your temple.

If you haven't heard our podcast entitled, "Teshuvah" I encourage you to go to our podomatic page and listen to it, because in the podcast I explain the Hebraic concept of repentance how vital it is for us as disciples and New Covenant believers to embrace biblical repentance and to begin to bear the commensurate fruit.

Be informed, be forewarned and forearmed.

Also I want to say I know that many of you are aware that Milly has had some incredible encounters with the Cloud of Witnesses and has had some supernatural encounters within the realms of glory. I will vouch for my wife, she is the real deal, she walks with God and with Enoch, and I am very blessed to call her my best friend and armour bearer, and it is our hope that you our cabin friends will find inspiration and joy to continually seek the Living God.

We try our best to present the truth to all in love, in hope that Yeshua the King will be glorified and his Kingdom enlarged in your sphere of influence.

While we would never personally dishonor or publically shame any leader in the Body of Messiah, I felt it necessary to warn you about this cult of personality thing I see so prevalent in some of the modern charismatic/mystical circles and give you biblical perspective concerning these trends I see cropping up. The bottom line is that if we are seeking glory from another then we are not seeking the real and weighty glory that only comes from God.

Also we are in a great awakening spiritually as a people, and are also called to be living vessels of revival and restoration. Much of the Word of truth has been diluted and watered down and filtered so heavily that it no longer carries the same weight and power of conviction in it's orginal intention. There is a lot of "GMO" ( for lack of better word) spiritual food out there that will make you sick, and If I can point you back to a "Kosher spirituality" in Messiah Yeshua, then you best believe I will do my best to "rightly divide the word of truth" and unashamedly give you my perspective even when it is undoubtedly unpopular or contrary to what the babylon false prophets are teaching.

"May God be true and every man be consider a liar" and also may the true sons of God be breathed upon by the Spirit that indwells us."

Selah.
